New Leak Suggests iPad Pro Magic Keyboard Could Be Available For More Models

A new leak suggests that the iPad Pro’s Magic Keyboard may be available to additional iPad models in the future.

As reported by MacRumors, a credible leaker who goes by the handle @L0vetodream on Twitter published a tweet hinting at this possibility. The user’s tweet signaled that iPad Pro’s Magic Keyboard becoming available to more iPad models outside of the ‘Pro’ family.

It’s been rumoured that Apple may announce and release a fourth-generation iPad Air, which uses USB-C instead of a Lightning connection. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has said that the new iPad Air would release in the second half of 2020. It’s to be expected that the new device will be based on the 11-inch iPad Pro as well. This may be an indicator that the iPad Air could realistically be compatible with the Magic Keyboard.

Currently, the Magic Keyboard is available for the 11-inch iPad Pro and the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. It is also backwards compatible with 2018’s iPad Pro models, the third-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro, and the first generation 11-inch iPad Pro.

User @L0vetodream has made some claims in the past in regards to the unannounced iPad Air. In a separate tweet, the user claimed that the device will feature a mini LED screen with no notch. The account has also said there will not be Face ID, but a Touch ID scanner under the screen.

As with any unsubstantiated leak, it’s best to wait for an official announcement from Apple before getting your hopes up. If true, Apple will likely touch on this during its WWDC keynote which is scheduled for June 22nd at 1 PM EST.
