Telus prepaid brand Public Mobile has announced a new $35 plan with 2GB data, available today.
The $35/2GB plan comes with 3G data and unlimited Canada-wide talk and text, to go with unlimited international SMS/MMS. The 2GB data is broken down by 1.5GB plus a bonus 500MB with AutoPay (credit card pre-authorized payments).
After the AutoPay discount, the price works out to $33 every 30 days. The Public Mobile 3G network runs on Telus LTE, but throttled to about 3 Mbps download speeds.
This plan competes with Bell’s Lucky Mobile and its $35/2GB plan with automatic top-up, while Rogers’ Chatr currently is offering $35 for 1.5GB of 3G data, which may change to match its rivals.
Shaw’s Freedom mobile offers a $29 plan with 3GB, as part of a bonus data promotion right now.
Public Mobile says this plan is available for new and existing customers.
