Apple Shares Behind-the-Scenes Look at Fitness+ Studio in Santa Monica

Apple has recently given Men’s Health magazine an exclusive virtual tour of its new 23,000-square-foot, three-story Fitness+ Studio in Santa Monica, featuring a modern, all-white everything interior, with wood accents, and lots of glass and screens.

Apple’s wood-walled and wood-floored Fitness+ Studio has three sliding glass doors which open to reveal a verdant garden. Outside the door to the studio, there’s a quote that reads: “Please be responsible for the energy you bring into this space.”

Inside, there are instructors and trainers, with several robotic cameras focusing on the trainers from the front, the sides, and directly above.

“We want these workouts to be magical. We’re creating a piece of art, a piece of inspiration, a piece of motivation,” says Jay Blahnik, Apple’s senior director of fitness for health technologies.

Arrays of bulbs shine down, bathing the riders in warm, welcoming light. When Blahnik closes the door, the spinning—and shooting—will start.

“Many people might not think about the importance of lighting a cycling class differently than a yoga class, but we think it makes a difference.”
