2022 iPhone Lineup Will Not Include iPhone Mini Claims Kuo
In a new research note to investors, veteran Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has claimed that Apple’s 2022 iPhone lineup will not include an iPhone Mini, which could mark the end of the 5.4-inch model, MacRumors is reporting.
Kuo believes the next year’s iPhone lineup will consist of four models, including high-end 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch models and low-end 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch models. So if Apple decides to pull the plug on its 5.4-inch iPhone model, the 4.7-inch iPhone SE would once again become the smallest iPhone available.
“We predict that the new 2H22 iPhone will come in four models: the high-end 6.7″ and 6.1″, and the lower-end 6.7” and 6.1”,” noted the analyst.
It must, however, be noted that the current generation iPhone SE is slightly larger than the 5.4-inch iPhone Mini due to its thicker bezels and a Touch ID home button. It also has only a single-lens rear camera and is equipped with an LCD screen, in contrast to the iPhone 12 Mini’s superior OLED display.
So far, rumours suggest that there will be an iPhone 13 Mini releasing this year, alongside the flagship iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro models.
