Apple Launches Podcast Affiliate Program

Apple has officially announced that it will be launching an affiliate program for its upcoming Apple Podcasts Subscription model. Users under the affiliate program will have a chance to earn commission from Apple when a podcast link shared results in a subscription.

Announced by Apple, the affiliate program is being called the Apple Services Performance Partner Program. The company states that the program will grant affiliates “immediate access to reporting data on all your linked podcast marketing activities, including email, social promotions, digital ads, and more”. On top of that, affiliates will earn a commission “each time a subscription purchase is made from an affiliated link” shared.

Apple will be launching its Apple Podcasts Subscription model, which gives listeners exclusive perks such as an ad-free listening experience, early access to episodes, and subscriber-only content. As such, the affiliate program will incentivize users to drive subscriptions through links.

Affiliates will receive a 50% commission on clicked links that result in a subscription. Apple uses an example of if a subscription to a linked podcast costs $10, the affiliate will receive $5. The payment model is being scaled globally, based on market pricing, Apple has said.

Users are free to sign up and register to become an affiliate. Once accepted into the program, affiliates will receive a unique token consisting of alphanumeric characters that must be added to the affiliate’s Apple Podcasts links. Based on Apple’s announcement, anyone can try and register. There is nothing stating that only podcast creators are able to sign up for the affiliate program.
