Following the release of iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 beta 2 for developers, Apple has released iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 Public Beta 2 for its beta testing program, available free for anyone to download and test.

Apple said the Public Beta was slated for July, but it has now released early. Usually, these second betas are more ‘stable’ compared to first betas, but still be aware it is early release software.

Here’s how to download iOS 15 Public Beta 2 for your iPhone—the instructions are the same for iPadOS 15 Public Beta 2 as well.

Step 1: You should install a Public Beta on a secondary device, since it’s beta software and there are bugs. Your first step is to create a backup of your device in iTunes or iCloud.

Step 2: From your iPhone or iPad, visit beta.apple.com/profile to download the configuration profile (you’ll need to sign into your Apple ID). Click on ‘Download Profile’, then click ‘Allow’.

Your iPhone or iPad will let you know when the profile has been downloaded.
