Tesla Announces Record Number of Vehicle Deliveries in Q2

Producing and delivering over 200,000 cars for the first time ever, Tesla has today announced a record number of vehicle deliveries in Q2. “Congrats Tesla Team on over 200,000 car built & delivered in Q2, despite many challenges!!”, said CEO Elon Musk (via Tesla North).

During the period, Tesla produced 2,340 Model S/X and delivered 1,890 of these vehicles. The company produced 204,081 Model 3/Y and delivered 199,360 of them, for a total of 201,250 cars delivered in total.

Compared to Q2 2020, Tesla delivered 90,650 vehicles, so compared to the 201,250 in Q2 2021, that’s a 122% increase year-over-year.

“In the second quarter, we produced and delivered over 200,000 vehicles. Our teams have done an outstanding job navigating through global supply chain and logistics challenges,” said Tesla in a statement.

“Overall, this quarter was an impressive performance from Musk & Co. and now with a strong second half performance should be able to hit ~900k vehicles for the year, which was a major stretch goal to kick off this year,’ said Wedbush analyst Dan Ives.

In the previous quarter, the electric car maker had produced and delivered 184,870 cars in total.
