Apple CEO Tim Cook to Visit White House and Discuss Cybersecurity Alongside Other Tech Executives

Apple CEO Tim Cook will soon be visiting President Joe Biden in the White House. Cook will be joined by other tech executives like Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella to discuss cybersecurity.
News of Cook’s visit to the White House comes by way of Bloomberg. The report states that sources have said Cook, Nadella and other executives from Amazon, Google, IBM, Southern Co., and JPMorgan Chase & Co have been invited to discuss cybersecurity with President Biden and his staff.
In the discussion regarding cybersecurity, the group of tech executives will apparently discuss ways to improve security as there has been a ramp-up of ransomware and online attacks sent over the past year. Although exact details of the meeting are scarce, it appears as though President Biden wishes to inquire about practical solutions to improve the online security framework in the banking, energy, and water utility sectors.
Additionally, the Biden administration is reportedly hoping to work with large tech companies in order to fight supply chain security attacks through software development. This apparently follows numerous attacks on infrastructure coming from Russian and Chinese cyber groups.
The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
