Apple and NBA Unveil Limited-Edition Powerbeats Pro

The National Basketball Association (NBA) has partnered with Apple’s Beats brand, the league’s official headphone sponsor, and Better Gift Shop to launch limited edition Powerbeats Pro in celebration of its 75th anniversary season (via Input Mag).

The NBA-themed earbuds feature an abstract interpretation of the basketball league’s logo, hand-painted by artist Shay Semple, at the core of their design.

The exclusive design and Semple’s rendition of the NBA logo extend to the charging case as well, along with the packaging. As for the earbuds themselves, one sports the NBA logo while the other has the Toronto-based Better Gift Shop logo on it, and both are adorned with Beats branding on a cream-coloured base.

Rounding out the NBA theme are interchangeable red and blue ear tips. Like the regular Powerbeats Pro which came out in 2019, these earbuds are sweat-resistant, water-resistant, and equipped with silicone ear-hooks for a snug and secure fit during strenuous activity. The Powerbeats Pro are powered by Apple’s H1 chip and offer 24-hour battery life.

“At Better, we strive to push boundaries and authenticate representation — and this collaboration does exactly that,” Avi Gold, founder of Better Gift Shop, said in a press release.

“Working with artist Shay Semple, one of the first to incorporate hand-painted artwork onto a Beats charging case, made this even more special. From a young age, I grew up being inspired by so many subcultures, music genres, and watching NBA games, fueled by their energy. Now, it feels so surreal to see life come full circle.”

The limited-edition Powerbeats Pro will launch on February 19, and they will be available to purchase online at the NBA Store and in-store at Better™ Gift Shop, Dover Street Market, and NOTRE outlets.

Each pair will be priced the same as the regular Powerbeats Pro, at $250 in the U.S. The base Powerbeats Pro cost $329.95 CAD in Canada, but stay tuned for Canadian availability and price confirmation for the new limited edition variant.
