TikTok Partners with GIPHY on ‘TikTok Library’ Video Creation Tool

TikTok users will soon have even more ways to make their videos stand out from the crowd.

The service has announced the TikTok Library, which will grant creators access to more entertainment-based content. You’ll be able to find GIFs, clips from your favourite TV shows, memes and other content, which you can slot into your TikToks.

The idea behind TikTok Library is to enable users to incorporate elements into their videos including GIFs, memes and video clips from their favourite shows.

The pilot kicks off in select markets on Android Tuesday, with iOS to follow next week, and it will debut with GIPHY Clips, which are GIFs with sound.

GIPHY’s GIF platform was integrated into TikTok in August 2019, and TikTok and GIPHY reached an agreement last December to allow TikTok users to use GIFs with the Green Screen creative effect.

People with access to TikTok Library can tap the new Library icon on the vertical sidebar in the camera screen, at which point they can scroll through trending content or use the search bar for more specific queries.

Once they choose which content to use, that content can be clipped to the desired length, and the user can return to the shoot page to continue capturing content for their video.
