According to the Insider Intelligence Canada Mobile Banking Emerging Features Benchmark 2022 study, the BMO Mobile Banking app ranks first among all big banks.

The study looks at emerging features in mobile banking apps and the BMO Mobile Banking app saw top scores in the categories of digital money management, account management and alerts.

Canada’s seven largest banks by assets and their emerging mobile banking capabilities were examined by the study, which surveyed over 1,600 mobile banking users.

“This recognition of BMO’s #1 mobile banking experience is a testament to our continued focus on meeting customers where they are with leading digital experiences that help them make real financial progress,” said Ernie Johannson, Group Head, Personal & Business Banking, BMO Financial Group, in a statement. “Our teams are committed to continued innovation that makes money management more convenient and meets customer expectations.”

In its press release, BMO said it is “working with speed and scale to drive progress for its customers, unlock the power of its people and deliver loyalty, growth and efficiency.”

My main bank is BMO and its amazing. It has yet to let me down.
Second bank is Scotia, online is horrible UI, the emails for transactions are visual shat.
Third bank is CIBC, feels like im from the 90’s
I had TD back in my teens and it was okay. just money holding issues.

Are you able to download statements? That feature in the iOS app’s been broken for months if not longer. If BMO is #1, I don’t wanna know how bad the other banks’ apps are.

It’s not that they didn’t add it. Their android app does it just fine. It’s because it’s a bug and they didn’t fix it.

I’m really surprised RBC didn’t come on top because their app is years ahead.

BMO app is literally the worst idk how the rating system works. Scotia/rbc/cibc has the best mobile apps

Hmm, did BMO commission this study? BMO only semi recently got mobile cheque deposits! They were horrible not too long ago. They didn’t support auto deposit, didn’t support faceID login, didn’t support Siri Shortcuts. They even regularly go down for hours for “maintenance” and don’t even post those hours! And worst of all, if you try to login during these downtimes, instead of telling you that, they lie and say your password is incorrect. So users reset their password over and over even though that is not even the issue. It’s a dumpster fire.

As soon as I saw the headline I knew the study is bullshit. Their app is one of the worst in the country.

Really? I’m with BMO and there is nothing special about it.
I admit that everything works well, It’s not the best looking app, but I would love to see them take the lead in the industry improve security like the possibility to add a Yubikey for 2FA authentication and prevent phishing scams.
