iOS 16 Public Beta Download Release Date in July, Later Than Expected: Report
According to Bloomberg’s reliable Mark Gurman, public beta testers of iOS 16 could be waiting a bit longer than usual.
Apple is set to hold its Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) starting on June 6 to June 10, 2022. The company will again preview the next versions of its desktop and mobile operating systems.
While developers usually get first dibs to beta builds the same day, public beta testers normally get their crack at test software during subsequent builds, as they are usually more stable.
Gurman said on Monday that public beta testers may be waiting for beta 3 developer builds in July this year, suggesting the public beta timeline may be delayed.
“iOS 16’s first public beta is scheduled alongside iOS 16 developer beta 3 in July,” said Gurman. “First iOS public betas are typically released alongside beta 2. That means the public beta may be running behind. Current internal seeds are a bit buggy. Things are still fluid and could shift,” added the reporter.
Of course, we’re still weeks away from WWDC and also quite a ways from July, so take this one with a grain of salt, as things definitely could change.
