This offer does not exist for everyone even if it has been confirmed in your area. I don’t see it for myself in my PC Optimum app.

The article is littered with 75,000 where it should say 7,500…

…and taxes on gift cards?! But the items you purchase with the gift cards have taxes applied to them. Why would you be taxed on the gift card?

At least in Ontario, up til a few months ago, there were no taxes on them. And yet it’s apparently in this offer’s terms and conditions (don’t have offer so can’t check), so maybe something’s changed.

Taxing gift cards would be monumentally stupid. Literally no one with an ounce of sense would ever buy them again. It’s already a little silly from a consumer POV that you’re giving a cash gift that has restrictions on where you can use it. If I had to pay tax on that I’d just give the gift as cash in an envelope and be done with it.

Open your PC Optimum app- scroll down your offers and should see this as a Shoppers Drug Mart exclusive in-store from 4-8 July. Also indicates points will be posted to your account 2-4 weeks later, so keep your receipt and check later.
