Apple TV+ Nabs Over 50 Emmy Nominations, Led by ‘Ted Lasso’ Again

This year’s Primetime Emmy Awards nominations were announced earlier today, and Apple TV+ bagged a whopping 51 of them for its programming.

Critical darling ‘Ted Lasso’ led the charge for Apple for the second year in a row, this time with 15 nominations. Apple TV+’s flagship comedy series scored 20 nominations last year and went on to win in seven categories.

In total, Apple received 35 Primetime Emmy nominations for 2021. The streamer saw an impressive step up in nominations this year, boosted in part by freshman sci-fi workplace series ‘Severance’ proving itself a breakout in the drama genre.

‘Ted Lasso’ was once again nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series, while ‘Severance’ bagged a nomination for Best Drama Series. Adam Scott from ‘Severance’ has also been nominated as Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.

Other Apple TV+ titles that have received 2022 Primetime Emmy Awards nominations include ‘Schimgadoon!,’ ‘The Morning Show,’ and ‘The Problem With Jon Stewart.’

‘Ted Lasso’ has done pretty well for Apple this awards season, winning big at the 2022 Critics Choice Awards in March and securing a Golden Globe earlier in the year.

We’ll find out how many wins Apple TV+ titles are able to capture at the 74th Emmy Awards when they are broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater on Monday, September 12 at 5:00 PM PDT on NBC and Peacock.
