Fido Offering $38/25GB Plan for Some Existing Customers [Update]

Fido $38 25 plan

Fido appears to be offering a special promo plan for some existing customers, in the form of a $38 per month plan with 25GB of data.

According to RFD, the plan is available online under the ‘Change Plan’ section of the website, showing the heading “Exclusive plan for you”. The existing Fido customer that received this promo is located in Toronto, Ontario. They were on the previous Fido $30/10GB plan.

While the plan says it offers 4G LTE data speeds, the fine print says only 3G speeds will be available until January 22, 2023. From this point onwards, LTE speeds of up to 150 Mbps will apply.

The plan doesn’t allow the carryover of 1,000 promotional long distance minutes, as it tries to charge $3/month extra for that perk.

Again, if you’re with Fido, trying logging into your online account and check if this special promo plan is available for you or not.

Update Sept. 26: This $38/25GB plan comes with full LTE speeds, and the footnote above was actually for a basic Fido bring your own phone plan, not the promo plan mentioned.

Here’s what the fine print says:

This plan includes data at 3G speed with download and upload speeds of up to 3 Mbps. On the Fido network or in an Extended Coverage area.

Lmao.

EDIT: I was mistaken.

It’s a mistake – that plan comes with full LTE speeds. The fineprint was referring to point 10, in which ’10’ is superscripted in Fido’s BYOP Basic plan, which is the only plan on Fido with 3G speeds. Got this clarified via live chat and updated the RFD post. Sorry for the confusion.

Hi – author of the RFD article here. I want to clarify that the $38 plan comes with FULL LTE speeds. I misinterpreted the footnotes – point 10 says 3G speeds but this is in reference to Fido’s BYOP Basic plan (in which ’10’ is superscripted. This is NOT the case for the 4G LTE plans). If you can please correct this, that would be great. Sorry for the confusion, and thank you in advance.
