Xbox to Attend Gamescom in August With Its “Biggest Booth Yet”

Xbox has confirmed its attendance at Gamescom, one of the largest gaming conventions in the world. The company confirmed that it’ll have its “biggest booth yet” at the event, taking place from Wednesday, August 21 to Sunday, August 25th.
In a post on X (formally Twitter), Xbox noted that it will be “heading BACK to @gamescom.” Following the Xbox Games Showcase earlier this month, the company is due to highlight many of the games shown during its conference.
In the lead-up to launching a catalogue of games throughout the second half of the year, Xbox is bringing a large handful of titles to Gamescom for its booth. As confirmed the by company, this includes the following:
- Age of Mythology: Retold
- Avowed
- Ara: History Untold
- Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred
- Diablo Immortal
- The Elder Scrolls Online
- Fallout 76
- Towerborne
- World of Warcraft: The War Within
Xbox also goes on to say that there’ll be “more to come.” Taking a look at this list, many of the games are either unreleased and scheduled for 2024 or ongoing titles with updates on the way. This includes Avowed, which is tentatively scheduled for “Fall 2024.” The Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred DLC had a huge pop at the Xbox Games Showcase and is due to launch on October 8th.
In the instance of Ara: History Untold and Towerborne, both were not present during the Xbox Games Showcase. Thus, Gamescom can serve as the way players can learn more about the game as well as perhaps get some hands-on time with them. The former releases on September 24th yet Towerborne strangely still doesn’t have a release date.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Sony Interactive Entertainment will be skipping Gamescom. According to the German industry publication Games Wirtschaft (via VGC), PlayStation will not have a presence on the show floor.
With that said, Gamescom will be home to many large publishers and more indie developers as well. The event begins with Gamescom Opening Night Live, hosted and produced once again by Geoff Keighley on August 20th.
