Bell and Virgin Fixing International Roaming Outage
Bell is actively addressing a widespread wireless outage affecting its customers roaming internationally, as reported by the company in updates shared over recent days.
Today, June 29, Bell provided an update to say, “We are continuing to make good progress on the intermittent service disruption affecting customers traveling internationally that has been impacting multiple wireless providers globally. The majority of customers should see their service improve today. We apologize for the inconvenience.”
The ongoing issue has prompted numerous complaints from affected users who have reported a lack of service.
Since June 26, Bell has been collaborating with its partners to resolve the issue, initially acknowledged as causing service problems for wireless customers outside of Canada.
I'm running into the same issue 😡 no signal while roaming outside Canada, I hope you're not charging me the $16 a day for roaming during this, i tried to cancel by texting REMOVEROAM to 8000 but got no acknowledgment, please confirm.

Updates on June 27 and June 28 reiterated Bell’s efforts, indicating ongoing work to restore service and highlighting progress made in cooperation with international partners.
Bell customers aren’t the only wireless carriers impacted by outages lately. Freedom Mobile also stated it was dealing with issues related to nationwide roaming. Nice to see both carriers share updates on X, unlike some others.

Would this be the same outage that the big three American carriers are having with roaming, which is due to problems at Syniverse? It should be noted that when people have trouble connecting to towers, particularly overseas, they should use wi-fi calling. But I guess that would only work for the Freedom (and Rogers) customers in this case, since Bell (and Telus) block it when you travel.
