Bell Opens First Best Buy Express Retail Store

Back in January, Bell and Best Buy announced a partnership where both companies would operate new Best Buy Express stores from rebranded The Source locations (owned by Bell).
Today, the first Best Buy Express store has opened in Canada, taking place in B.C.’s Lower Mainland. According to Bell, the first location is at Guildford Town Centre in Surrey, located 30km west of Downtown Vancouver.
“Opening 167 stores in five months may be a North American first. It’s certainly bold in retail today. We’re excited to see these new stores come to life as we double our store count, expanding our presence across Canada. We’re proud to be able to offer our ultimate shopping convenience to new and existing customers,” touted Ron Wilson, President, Best Buy Canada, in a statement.

“We’ve combined the best of both companies to create a one-stop shop for Canadians and all their tech and connectivity needs. We’ve made the shopping experience more accessible, convenient, and enjoyable for our customers and we couldn’t be more excited that it’s here now,” said Blaik Kirby, Group President, Consumer and Small Business, Bell, in an issued statement to iPhone in Canada.
The new Best Buy Express location will have over 100,000 products, while supporting online purchase and in-store pick up. The location will offer Bell, Virgin Plus and Lucky Mobile wireless services for purchase plus support as well. These smaller stores will also include Geek Squad services including extended warranties for purchase.
Bell says there will be a phased rollout over the next six months, with all Best Buy Express stores expected to open by the end of 2024, once renovations are completed.
