Densetsu no Starfy 1-3 Now Available on Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack

Nintendo has announced that three classic Starfy games are arriving on Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. Starting today, subscribers can play Densetsu no Starfy, Densetsu no Starfy 2, and Densetsu no Starfy 3.
For those unfamiliar, Densetsu no Starfy, Densetsu no Starfy 2, and Densetsu no Starfy 3 all belong to the Starfy series. Each game hails from Japanese developer Tose, which began the series in 2002 on Game Boy Advance. The game features an adorable little star named Starfy. The platformer series sees Starfy run, jump, and attack throughout various stages with enemies and bosses along the way.
Tose has developed or co-developed over 1,000 games since it first opened its doors in 1979. That includes the 2003 sequel Densetsu no Starfy 2, and Densetsu no Starfy 3, which launched in 2004. Unfortunately, none of these three games was ever released in the west. In North America, the only game in the Starfy series that launched was The Legendary Starfy in 2008 on Nintendo DS.
The Starfy series has been put on ice since 2008. Tose has gone on to be an intregal co-developer in the Dragon Quest series. The studio has also helped work on recent titles such as Splatoon 2, WarioWare: Get It Together!, and Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion.
Earlier this month, Nintendo dropped seven classic NES games on Nintendo Switch Online. With the addition of Densetsu no Starfy, Densetsu no Starfy 2, and Densetsu no Starfy 3, July 2024 has become one of the biggest months for the service.
A yearly subscription of Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack is available for $63.99 in Canada. Nintendo also offers a 12-month Family Membership, including up to eight accounts, for $99.99.
Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack provides subscribers access to a collection of Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, NES, and SNES titles. The subscription service includes premium pieces of DLC like the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass.
