Fido Removes 60GB Plan, Only Two Main Options Remain [Update]
Update: Of course, Fido has updated its website to bring back the $49/60GB plan. Our original story is below:
Rogers-owned Fido continues to tweak its plan offerings, and on Tuesday it removed its 60GB plan outside of Quebec.
Here are Fido plans after automatic payment discounts (the $44/50GB plan debuted just three days ago).
- $39/20GB Canada-US talk
- $44/50GB Canada-US talk (after 10GB data bonus)
$49/60GB Canada-US talk (187’d)
So only the $39 and $44 plans remain. Let’s wait and see what else Fido will debut.
In Quebec, it’s another story of course for Fido:
- $29/10GB
- $35/50GB
- $55/75GB Canada-US talk, text and data
Here are Telus-owned Koodo’s existing plans right now:
- $39/20GB
- $44/50GB (unlimited long distance perk)
- $49/60GB (unlimited long distance perk)
Also here are the Koodo plans in Quebec:
- $29/20GB
- $34/50GB
- $45/50GB Canada-US talk, text and data
- $49/60GB
Last but not least, we have Bell’s Virgin Plus and its current plans:
- $39/20GB Canada-US talk
- $44/50GB Canada-US talk
- $49/60GB Canada-US talk
- $65/75GB Canada 5G
The Quebec plans from Virgin Plus aren’t anything special at all:
- $29/20GB Canada-wide
- $34/50GB Canada-wide
- $45/60GB Canada-wide
- $65/75GB 5G
So only in Quebec are Big 3 flanker brands offering Canada-US plans for talk, text and data, specifically Fido and Koodo.
Back to school “offers” are being promoted but the real deals will come once Black Friday rolls around in November.
Update July 30, 2024, 12:45pm PDT: Fido has brought back the $49/60GB plan.
