Twitter App for Mac Now Delisted From App Store

One of the last remnants of Twitter has been taken offline. The Twitter Mac app on the App Store has been delisted.
While X has broadly taken over as the rebrand of Twitter across the web, mobile, etc. Twitter remained active, albeit buggy, via the Mac App Store. However, as Vedant confirms online (as reported by 9to5Mac), the app is no longer available. As of the time of writing, there’s no concrete reasoning behind it being pulled aside from the assumption that X delisted it.
Thankfully, for users who have the app installed on their Mac devices, Twitter remains operational. As you’d expect, the app hasn’t received any major updates since Elon Musk took over and rebranded the company as X. While a few bugs exist, the app remains functional for many users.
That being said, there’s no guarantee that the app will continue functioning. Now that X appears to have remembered that app’s existence, the company may pull the plug on functionality in the future.
For Mac users, it seems as though navigating the web version of X is the only way forward. Unless X supports its iPad app on M-series Macs, we’ll unlikely ever see a proper app on Mac devices again. The Twitter app was abandoned before Musk stepped in. However, it was rebuilt over time to continue supporting core functions throughout the years.
