Apple Removes Siri AI Waitlist in iOS 27, Making Access Easier

Apple has quietly removed one of the biggest barriers to accessing its revamped Siri AI assistant. This change lets eligible iPhone users activate the feature without waiting for approval.
Apple has reportedly removed the waitlist for Siri AI, according to 9to5Mac. This comes nearly two months after iOS 27 launched, introducing a substantially more capable version of Siri powered by Apple Intelligence.
Previously, users attempting to enable Siri AI were automatically placed on a waitlist while Apple gradually expanded access. According to an updated Apple support document, Siri AI now begins downloading immediately after activation. However, Apple warns that waitlists may temporarily return during periods of high demand.
Users with a compatible device can open ‘Settings’, select ‘Siri’, and tap ‘Try Siri AI (Beta)’. From there, Apple guides users through voice selection, enrollment and privacy settings.
The new assistant introduces conversational responses, personal context awareness and deeper integration with apps. For example, Siri AI can locate information across Messages, Mail and Calendar, answer questions about what’s displayed on your screen and perform actions across supported apps. Apple also introduced a dedicated Siri app that synchronizes conversation history through iCloud, allowing users to continue interactions across iPhone, iPad and Mac.
The feature supports English and French, along with Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish, making it accessible to eligible Canadian users.
Siri AI requires an Apple Intelligence-compatible device, including iPhone 15 Pro models and newer supported devices, such as the iPhone Duo. Apple’s updated documentation also confirms that certain server-based Apple Intelligence features remain subject to daily usage limits, with expanded paid access planned for the future.
For users who held off during the initial rollout, removing the mandatory waitlist makes Apple’s next-generation assistant considerably easier to try.
