New Google TV Streamer Launches in Canada for $129

Google has launched its latest Google TV Streamer, priced at $129.99 CAD, offering a next-gen 4K streaming device that replaces the older Chromecast, and now includes 32GB of storage. The outgoing Chromecast 4K is priced at $69.99 so this is more expensive.
The new Google TV Streamer provides access to over 700,000 movies and shows through popular streaming apps like YouTube, Netflix, and Disney+, along with live TV from more than 800 free channels.
Users can organize all their subscriptions in one place and create personalized watchlists with recommendations powered by Google AI, which can also give you summaries, reviews and breakdown of content.
“Enjoy faster and uninterrupted streaming,” Google announced, highlighting the Ethernet port that allows direct connection to Wi-Fi routers for improved speed and quality. This new Google TV Streamer also acts as your smart home hub for Google Home and Matter devices.
The Google TV Streamer integrates with Pixel and Android devices, enabling users to transfer media from their phones, view Google Photos, and control music throughout the home directly from their TV.

Sporting a new sleek and low-profile design (it looks like a wireless charging mat), the Google TV Streamer is made to fit into any home’s decor. The new redesigned voice remote includes a customizable button for quick access to favourite apps, inputs, or the home panel for controlling smart home devices.
You can also locate the remote if it’s lost between the cushions as it as a little speaker that will beep. Just say, “Hey Google, find my remote” or press a button on the back of the streaming device, or use the Google Home app (Apple, pay attention).
The new Google TV Streamer launches on September 24, 2024, from Google and authorized retailers.
Earlier today, Google launched a new 4th generation Nest Thermostat, priced at $379.

This looks like the Onn 4k Pro streamer at Walmart USA. What's the difference?
No, it has not yet launched in Canada. Headline false.
Pre-orders are available now, and it debuts on Sept. 24.
I'll keep my old Chromecast
There's no mention of the Google TV Streamer on the Google Store Canada. You can't pre-order it. Not sure when it will come in Canada at all.
