Tesla Launches Cybertruck in Canada: Pricing from $137,990

Tesla on Thursday evening started emailing out Cybertruck reservation holders in Canada, officially kickstarting the launch of the futuristic truck in the Great White North, expanding outside the US for the first time.
Now, Tesla Cybertruck pricing in Canada is not cheap, as there’s luxury tax, plus PST and GST on the latter as well (welcome to Canada, the land of taxes on top of taxes). However, Tesla has said they are working to have the luxury tax exempt, since federal law says only vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of 3,856 kg or less fall into the extra tax bracket. The Cybertruck weighs 4,159 kg, so it should be exempt–and Tesla agrees.
Tesla has launched the limited-edition Foundation Series Cybertruck in Canada, reports Tesla North, which shared all the CAD pricing and specs for the initial all-wheel drive and tri-motor configurations. Rear-wheel drive Cybertrucks, which should cost lower than these initial high-end versions, won’t be coming until 2025. As for the dual motor and tri motor Cybertrucks below, Tesla says first deliveries will happen in October 2024.

There’s a non-refundable $250 order deposit required to place your Cybertruck order. That total purchase price does not include GST and PST, so tack on another 12% if you’re in B.C., for example. Tesla does say you’ll “save” about $7,500 per year in gas, so those savings should be taken into consideration.
Cyberbeast Tri Motor All-Wheel Drive
- Price: $165,990 CAD
- Foundation Series Package: Included
- Laser-Etched Foundation Series Badge
- Foundation Series Cabin Graphic
- 20” Cyber Wheels with 35” Tires

- Original Reservation Credit: -$150
Total Purchase Price: $182,489.20 CAD
Again, there’s a $250 non-refundable deposit to continue your order, while provincial and federal taxes are extra on top. That works out to an incredible $204,387.90 CAD for this top of the line Cybertruck. You need to be rich to afford these initial Cybertrucks, which is why they have become the latest must-have vehicle by celebrities and superstar athletes.
Also, Canadians aren’t the only lucky ones to get Cybertruck outside of the U.S. for the first time–Tesla also launched configurations for the truck in Mexico. Cybertruck is made at Tesla’s Austin Gigafactory and clearly have been ramping up production of the truck.
Did you receive an email from Tesla to place your Cybertruck order? Are you going to plunk down some cash to be one of the first Cybertruck owners in Canada?

Hummer meets Aztek meets Lada.
meets fight fighters.
Insulting in this day and age… but hey, a fool and their money will soon be parted.
The ugliest and most useless vehicle on the road today….bar none.
Thank God at least is expensive, who knows, at real value of 50k people might have bought it.
Too much money for a hideous thing. Does anyone feel this? Is anyone else frustrated by this? Electric cars are ridiculously expensive, and the government offers rebates that most people can’t even take advantage of in this economy. Meanwhile, those of us living paycheck to paycheck are stuck paying full taxes, including carbon taxes, while driving old gas cars. As a lower-middle-class person who can’t afford an EV, it feels like a slap in the face to see someone zipping by in the HOV lane in a car that my tax dollars helped pay for, while they dodge road taxes too. This was way off-topic but That's how I feel.
I can only Say.. WOW. I was seriously considering taking a wander down to the local tesla dealer since I noticed they had a lineup of Cybertrucks on display. Having checked out the price tag, I'm not even going to waste the energy of my leaf to go see them now.
Whomever thought up the luxury tax idea for these things needs to rethink.
While the truck is spec'd out to perform, it doesn't have a decent towing range. So right off the bat, its useless to me even if it had a decent price tag. Sorry Tesla, just like the ford lightning, you goofed.
