Google is primed to host its latest Made by Google event this week. On Tuesday, August 13, Google will unveil the new Pixel 9 series. Here’s how you can tune in and what to expect.
Each year, Google hosts a live event for press and content creators, debuting its new Pixel smartphone as well as other Pixel-branded devices. Ahead of the upcoming Made by Google event, the company has confirmed that the Pixel 9 will be fully revealed alongside the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. However, there are likely to be many other surprises and announcements to look forward to.

Google’s Pixel 9 series will likely be at the centre of the Made by Google event. Although it hasn’t officially pulled back the curtain on design changes, leaked assets have shown the expected range of colours, including a darker colourway, pink, and an off-white option. In Google’s official post, we can also see that Pixel 9 features a slightly tweaked camera bar. The corners are now rounded and pill-shaped, complimenting the glossy finish on the back.
There’s no official word yet on specs or hardware upgrades. However, Google has confirmed that its Pixel 9 series will feature AI support. Gemini is expected to be supported across Pixel devices, offering users new ways to interact with their devices. It’s not yet known whether Google has created any new generative AI features for Pixel 9. However, reports indicate that Google’s continued investment into AI will be a focus at the Made by Google event.
To tune in and not miss an announcement, Google’s keynote is being livestreamed. Starting on Tuesday, August 13th at 1 PM ET/10 AM PT, you can check out the live stream and see each device and AI innovation as they are announced. Be sure to check out iPhone in Canada for more on availability and pricing once that info is made available.
