Fan Expo Canada Returns to Toronto August 22-25

It’s that time of year again. Fan Expo Canada returns to Toronto this week, opening its doors to fans of all sorts. With a packed weekend of panels, activations, and meetups, Fan Expo Canada takes over the Metro Convention Centre from August 22 to August 25.
This year’s Fan Expo Canada aims to be a big one with many celebrity guests attending. There is also a laundry list of things to do and to see this year. Big-name guests attending this year’s expo include Simu Liu from Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Barbie fame. Rosario Dawson, Bryce Dallas Howard, Josh Gad, and Marisa Tomei are also set to attend.
Disney is celebrating the imminent debut of Agatha All Along on Disney+. On Friday, August 23 at 4:30 PM, stars Kathryn Hahn and Joe Locke will sit in on a panel with showrunner Jac Shaeffer to talk about the new series and tease fans along the way. This is a great way to set the stage ahead of its two-episode premiere on September 18th.
Fan Expo Canada is also primed to host the Letterkenny reunion. Following the conclusion of the 12-season run of the Crave series, the cast is coming back together. Andrew Herr, K. Trevor Wilson, Nathan Dales, Michelle Mylett, Dylan Playfair, Tyler Johnston, and Evan Stern will all be in attendance to do meet and greets. They’ll also attend the ‘Pitter Patter Panel: A Letter Kenny Reunion’ panel on August 23rd at 1:30 PM ET.
Other notable panels include ‘Skidoo Into Blues Clues: A Journey With Steve, Joe, and Josh’, a reunion with Blue’s Clues hosts Steve Burns, Donovan Patton, and Josh Dela Cru. The cast of The Trailer Park Boys is also hosting it’s Worse Case Ontario’ panel during the weekend with a Park After Dark podcast recording as well. Finally, the director of The Haunting of Hill House Mike Flannagan will be on a panel with series star Kate Siegel.
This year, Prime Video will have a booth spotlighting The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2. Paramount is returning with its Paramount Lodge booth. This year, Tale of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is front and centre. Attendees can take their picture in the TMNT lair as well as installations from SpongeBob SquarePants and Star Trek.
Over on the gaming side, AMD is partnering with Quest to Conquer Cancer to impact cancer research and give attendees the chance to win some prizes. CEO of Kashamara Productions hosting a special Final Fantasy VII Rebirth concert announcement, sharing behind-the-scenes details and more. Plus, former Mario voice actor Charles Martinet will be sitting down for a fireside chat.
There are a number of exciting guests from the gaming industry attending as well. Neil Newbon, who voiced Baldur’s Gate 3’s Astarion will be at Fan Expo Canada. Rod Fergusson, who currently oversees Diablo IV is also coming to the city. Other notable attendees include famed actor Jennifer Hale, Cameron Monaghan from the Star Wars Jedi series and Electric Playground‘s Victor Lucas. The latter of which will be sitting down for a reunion panel (moderated by yours truly) with former hosts Marissa Roberto and Shaun Hatton.
The show floor will be filled with various vendors within the gaming industry. Xbox is returning with its PC Game Pass Arena. Featuring a state, attendees can test their skills and play competitive Game Pass titles with prizes and earn bragging rights. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will also be in attendance. Immortalize your likeness in an immersive photo, inspired by the game’s key art. Toronto-based Brazilian artist Christiano De Araujo will also be hand-painting an oversized Black Ops 6-themed Xbox Series S throughout the weekend.
Other gaming activations include Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, where attendees can try the game and defend the Imperium. As part of its 25th anniversary, Neopets will be on the showroom floor with merch and games to check out. Also, check out the AMD booth to play at one of the 28 high-powered computers and the Multiplayer Mainstage.
Naturally, there’ll also be plenty of opportunities for cosplayers to show off their latest cosplays. Community meet-ups are also being planned by Fan Expo Canada as well so fans can celebrate together at the venue.
