Tesla Cybertruck Orders in Canada Now Open for All

Cybertruck order

Earlier this month, Tesla revealed its Cybertruck pricing in Canada for those that made reservations, and it wasn’t cheap, starting at $138,000 CAD.

Now, Tesla has opened up orders for Cybertruck in Canada to everyone, as the company’s website now shows “order” when you navigate to the Cybertruck in the menus (the truck isn’t shown on the front page).

The limited-edition Foundation Series Cybertruck is only available in Canada (just like the US), featuring dual-motor all-wheel drive and tri-motor configurations. The dual-motor version is priced at $137,990 CAD, with a total purchase cost of $148,889.20 CAD after additional fees, excluding GST and PST.

The tri-motor version, known as the Cyberbeast, starts at $165,990 CAD, reaching a total of $182,489.20 CAD before taxes. Both models come with the Foundation Series Package, which includes premium accessories, full self-driving capability, and lifetime premium connectivity.

A non-refundable $250 deposit is required to place an order for either model, with first deliveries expected in October 2024. While these high-end versions are the first to be released, a more affordable rear-wheel drive version is not expected until 2025.

Tesla claims buyers could save around $7,500 per year in fuel costs, but the high upfront costs position these vehicles as luxury items, favoured by celebrities and early adopters with deep pockets, who want a taste of the future, today.

There must not be that many buyers who had put down a deposit years ago wanting to buy a truck at over $100k.

Right? When they first announced this thing, the starting USD price was $70k. The fact that that starting price doubled is absurd.

This is for the Founders series .. which is a $25,000 premium. People are waiting for the regular version to save money. Buying the Founders edition is for those who want it early. It is a cool truck with great specs .. it will continue to sell well.
