Plex Launches Premium Movie Rentals in Canada

Plex has launched premium movie rentals in Canada, partnering with top studios including Warner Bros. Discovery, Paramount, Amazon MGM Studios, Lionsgate, and VVS Films.
The streaming service offers a variety of films including the likes of Everything Everywhere All at Once, Dune, and Joker to blockbusters such as Barbie and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Movie rentals start from $4.99 in Canada. Popcorn not included of course.
Plex’s movie rentals are available on various platforms, including Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV/Google TV, Roku, smart TVs, mobile devices, and game consoles.
To rent a movie on Plex, browse the movie library on your device, select a title, and follow the rental steps. Once rented, the movie can be watched on any supported Plex app and will appear in Continue Watching on your home screen.
Plex says it is the first streaming service to offer rentals alongside free ad-supported movies, TV shows, and live TV, said a spokesperson to iPhone in Canada. To keep track of everything you want to watch, Plex lets users create a universal watchlist, regardless of streaming service source.
Beyond new premium movie rentals, Plex has over 300 ad-supported live TV channels and 30,000 movies and shows in Canada.
