Apple iPhone 16 Event Last-Minute Leaks: New AirPods Max and More

Apple is set to unveil its iPhone 16 lineup and more at its special event today at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET. Last-minute predictions have surfaced from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who shared some more last-minute expectations on X late Sunday night.

“I expect the touch-sensitive camera button to be on all iPhone 16 models tomorrow,” Gurman said. “The slimmer bezels on the Pro line are noticeable, as are battery life improvements. I don’t expect the Pro entry price to be raised from $999 [USD]. Big focus will be on AI and the A18 chip across the board.”

Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro last year saw a $50-$110 price increase in Canada to start at $1,449 CAD. The entire iPhone 15 series line increased in price last year, and it’s mostly due to foreign exchange rates (and also–because Canada).

Gurman also anticipates Apple Watch updates, mainly the Series 10, which he expects to feature sleep apnea detection, larger screens, and slimmer bezels. However, he noted that blood pressure monitoring will not be included this year. “I don’t expect Apple to announce an Apple Watch Ultra 3 tomorrow. Instead, I expect the Ultra 2 sticks around and—finally—gains a black color option. I also wouldn’t rule out a delay to the new Watch SE.”

Apple will also launch new AirPods Max headphones with improved noise cancellation, adaptive audio, and USB-C, alongside the low-end AirPods 4, says Gurman. He added that this aligns with his previous reporting, despite no signs of low inventory in stores.

Additionally, Apple Watch could see a new collaboration with French fashion brand Jacquemus, possibly joining (or replacing?) Hermes, a partnership established by former Apple designer Jony Ive. Immersive Director Andre Elijah noted that Jacquemus had hinted at its involvement, sharing on Instagram that it was at Apple Park, suggesting attendance at today’s event.

“Apple Park is glowing!”, said Apple CEO Tim Cook on Monday morning. Can’t wait to hear Cook say, “Goooood morning!” later.

We’ll have full coverage of today’s Apple event here so stay tuned for more, folks (get your wallets ready—or not).

Yes, because Canada. Despite being neighbor with the USA, we miss out on many Apple exclusive features in Canada that the USA has.
