iPhone 16 Pro Battery Replacement Gets Pricier in Canada
Apple has updated its iPhone Repair & Service page with prices for fixing iPhone 16 series smartphones, when it comes to cracked screens, back glass, rear cameras and battery replacements (via MacRumors).
Last year, we saw repair costs for the iPhone 15 Pro Max drop compared to the iPhone 14 Pro Max. This year, costs look to be the same except for battery replacements for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, which have increased in price to $165 outside of your original warranty, a $30 increase.
Of course, if you add AppleCare+ to your iPhone 16 series, either monthly or two-year protection, you’ll benefit from cheaper replacement fees.
Cracked screen (front):
- iPhone 16: $365
- iPhone 16 Plus: $429
- iPhone 16 Pro: $429
- iPhone 16 Pro Max: $499
Back glass damage:
- iPhone 16: $219
- iPhone 16 Plus: $249
- iPhone 16 Pro: $219
- iPhone 16 Pro Max: $249
Cracked screen and back glass damage:
- iPhone 16: $519
- iPhone 16 Plus: $589
- iPhone 16 Pro: $569
- iPhone 16 Pro Max: $659
Battery replacement:
- iPhone 16: $135
- iPhone 16 Plus: $135
- iPhone 16 Pro: $165
- iPhone 16 Pro Max: $165
Rear camera:
- iPhone 16: $219
- iPhone 16 Plus: $219
- iPhone 16 Pro: $338
- iPhone 16 Pro Max: $338
Checking the iPhone 15 Pro Max prices as a benchmark, again, repair costs have stayed the same except for battery replacements. Apple increased battery life in its largest iPhone to 33 hours of video, so that might explain the price bump.

For what reason? it was supposed to be more repairable. lol
The new batteries in the 16 Pro series feature a lot of new advanced tech that is ostensibly more expensive to produce. They have a higher energy density, have metal plating for heat dissipation (as opposed to just foil), and a new high tech glue that releases when exposed to a particular electric current.
Which cost 2$ more to manufacture and takes 30mins less to repair. lmao
