Koodo Offering $15/50GB ‘Winback’ Deal to Some Customers

Telus-owned Koodo is offering a limited-time ‘winback’ deal for former customers in the Atlantic region, providing a $15/month plan with 50GB of 4G data and Canada-wide unlimited calling.

This bring your own device (BYOD) plan, described by some as “almost too good to be true,” on RFD, was confirmed to have been introduced just hours before customers began receiving calls from representatives.

The plan includes 4G data speeds capped at 100 Mbps, 1,250 minutes of international calling to 27 countries (including the US), and unlimited text messaging. It’s a BYOD offer, meaning it does not qualify for any new devices. Customers are required to pay a $70 setup fee, which is waived on the second bill.

Other RFD users confirmed the deal’s legitimacy by contacting Koodo through numbers provided in Telus/Koodo marketing emails. One customer was offered three different plans as part of the winback offer: $15 for 50GB, $30 for 60GB, and $45 for 80GB. Another user reported successfully adding two lines under the $15 plan, one via a physical SIM card and the other through an eSIM.

Below is a screenshot shared of the ‘winback’ deal, clearly showing the 50GB of data and $15 monthly service charge (and of course the $70 connection fee):

The deal appears to be time-sensitive, with Koodo representatives indicating that it was only available “today only” during calls made on September 20 and 21.

Customers were required to port back the number previously associated with their account to take advantage of the offer. Some users opened new accounts at Koodo stores and then added additional lines through the customer service number.

With Black Friday around the corner in late November, this latest ‘winback’ deal (sweetheart deals to lure back former customers) might be a teaser of plans to come.

If you’re bored, you may want to give 1-866-558-4146 a call if you are a former Koodo customer, and see if you can still get this deal.

This sounds and smells like desperation. Unheard of value for sure!

What is the catch, or what is the term, 12 months or 24 months?
