Koodo Increases Plans by $5, Matching Virgin Plus and Fido
Telus-owned Koodo has matched its rivals in increasing its plans by $5 per month.
On Thursday morning, Koodo tweaked its plans to the following:
- $44/20GB (new)
- $49/40GB (was 60GB)
- $54/60GB (was $49)
The $39/50GB plan has been eliminated, as the $44/20GB plan is now the entry price point (aside from the $37.50/2GB plan which is a joke). The $49/40GB plan is new, following in the footsteps of Virgin Plus and Fido. The 60GB plan jumps up $5 to $54 per month.
Again, it’s no surprise that the flanker brands of Rogers, Telus and Bell are making changes in unison, yet again.
Your job now is to hold out until Black Friday in November to see what plans will be coming, as they will definitely be better than what’s available now.

So much for lower rates
The providers are feeling emboldened to go against the current government's expectations and rules against prices / services offered because they figure their corporate chums – the Cons – will end up as next government and let them do WTF they want.
Careful what you wish for, folks. Its not just going to be PeePee's only known policy of 'Axe the Tax'.
I was on $30 for 60GB, it has risen to $35 for 60GB.
I called Koodo, and I was told the best they can do is add a 10GB to my 60GB, but there's no way to reduce my current rate. So I'm currently on a 60GB+10GB for $35. Not that I'll need it, but I guess that's a consolation gesture, nonetheless.
Additionally in self-serve, if I go to mobile services > change plans, I could have changed it to $35 for 65GB as well without calling in: https://imgur.com/a/fSTzjth .
