Rogers Offering $45/120GB Canada-US Plan to Some Customers

A long-time Rogers customer shared on Reddit that they successfully negotiated a significant plan upgrade, resulting in 120GB of Canada/USA data for just $45 per month after a $5 automatic payment discount.

The Rogers website lists the BYOD 5G Infinite Essential plan at $65/75GB. This plan looks to be cheaper at $45 after automatic payments and with 45GB of extra data.

The customer, who has been with Rogers for 10 years, previously had a 45GB data plan but managed to increase it to 120GB without switching to a win-back or employee pricing plan.

Initially, the customer reached out to inquire about adding U.S. coverage to their existing plan since they travel south of the border quite a bit.

Rogers responded with a $135/month option that included 250GB of data and Canada/USA coverage. However, after the customer declined, citing it as overkill, Rogers offered to add U.S. roaming to the current plan for free. Visual Voicemail remains and is included.

The customer also reported that they bundled in 1.5 Gbps internet and were given access to all TV channels for 24 months as part of the deal. Despite the impressive package, the customer maintains they are paying just $75 monthly for the combined services, which they described as “more than I ever need.”

While the exact reason for the generous offer remains unclear, the customer speculated that loyalty may have played a role. “I was as surprised as anybody else,” they shared on Reddit.

Back in March, we saw Rogers-owned Fido offer a $50/120GB Canada-US special offer outside of Quebec, but with 4G speeds.

While this special offer may not be available for everyone, if you have time to reach out to Rogers, you may be able to get a similar offer. This may be a preview of what we could expect when Black Friday rolls around next month.

It is always a good idea to talk with Rogers reps either in online chat, voice, or in-person at a store. They have access to plans that don't appear online, and know about deals and special codes to add extras to plans. My current plan is pretty sweet, considering I don't use much data: 5G Infinite Essential BYOD 70Gb – $40/mo (Canada-wide, 1Gbps max speed). I actually snagged that offer online in my account by clicking the "Change Plan" button!

I’m paying Bell $40 for 5G 100GB Canada wide, and another line $55 5G roaming US/ CAN/MEX 200GB.

Only Rogers supports wifi CALLING outside of Canada, so if you need wifi calling (not WiFi), Rogers or Fido are your only choices. There's a catch though. You'll need either an iPhone iOS 9 or better OR an Android 2015 or newer and purchased through them.

Black Friday is coming. I would anticipate 100GB plus for under $40 and a nearly free iPhone 14 or pixel 8.

Discussed online but couldn’t do better than my current RPP plan 45 for 140gb shared data with 3 in the family. Hopefully something better comes out publicly without this negotiating nonsense
