Apple May Release New USB-C Magic Mouse, Magic Keyboard, and Trackpad
Apple is gearing up to refresh its lineup of accessories, including the Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad, and Magic Keyboard with USB-C ports, MacRumors is reporting.

Currently, the Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad, and Magic Keyboard all rely on Lightning ports for recharging, but the iOS 18.1 code references a new generation of these products, likely with USB-C ports. This change would align Apple’s accessory lineup with its recent USB-C transition on iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks.
The Magic Mouse, known for its sleek design, has faced criticism in the past for its charging port location. Currently, the Lightning port is located on the bottom of the mouse, rendering it unusable while charging.
With the upcoming refresh, there is speculation that Apple could redesign the Magic Mouse to place the USB-C port in a more practical location.
The references found in iOS 18.1 also suggest that Apple is working on multiple versions of the Magic Keyboard. This could include models with and without Touch ID, as well as options with a built-in number pad.

There is speculation that the new Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad, and Magic Keyboard could be unveiled alongside Apple’s next-generation M4-powered Macs.
Rumours point to Apple releasing updated versions of the MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and iMac in October 2024, which could provide the perfect opportunity to introduce refreshed accessories.
