Apple Slashes Prices on M2 Mac Mini Refurbs in Canada

refurbished mac mini m2

Last May, Apple started selling refurbished M2 Mac mini computers in Canada for the first time.

Refurbished Macs go through a “rigorous refurbishment process prior to sale,” according to Apple. Essentially, these are customer returns that get cleaned up and are pretty much good as new.

When these first went on sale, we saw refurb prices in Canada start at $679 for the entry M2 Mac mini, for the 8-core CPU and 10-core GPU configuration with 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD. With today’s introduction of the M4 Mac mini (now with double the RAM to start), Apple has slashed the price of its refurbs.

The entry M2 Mac mini refurbished model, now starts at $569, saving you $110 off the pricing form last year. There are 10 refurbished M2 versions available and 7 M2 Pro variants showing as of writing, priced up to $4,409 for the 12‑Core CPU and 19‑Core GPU with 10GB Ethernet, 16GB unified memory, and 8TB SSD.

For $569, that’s a decent price for an entry M2 Mac mini, if you don’t need the latest and greatest, and you’re okay with 8GB of RAM. The new M4 Mac mini starts at $799 and now comes with 16GB of RAM, a $230 premium (but you get M4 instead of M2). If you’re price conscious, you can’t go wrong with the M2, especially as a computer for the kiddo to do homework on, for example.

Thanks Scott!
