Last week, we told you Telus-owned Public Mobile had debuted a new $36/50GB 5G Canada-US plan, ahead of Black Friday.
At the time, this promo plan which included 250 international long-distance minutes, was available for new and existing customers. But according to a change made on Public Mobile’s website on Friday, it has changed to “new activations only”.
Here are Public Mobile’s plans as of writing—it’s worth noting the $30/20GB Canada-US plan has also recently gained 100 international minutes (is that even a big selling point?):
Only the $35 and $45 plans do not specifically mention “available for new activations only.”
So far, Freedom Mobile leads the way with its $35/50GB 5G Canada-US-Mexico plan, available for 18 months. None of the ‘Big 3’ flanker brands have yet to debut plans with Mexico roaming. Maybe that might change during Black Friday.

how long does this public mobile deal last for? 18 months as well?
For as long as you keep making payments, not sure what you mean.
I've been on a $34 50 gb can/US plan for coming up on 12 months and no changes so far.
They'll increase the price eventually they always do…
One minor correction. You say none of the big three? But Rogers does now have the new unlimited Mexico roaming included in the "Infinite Premium" plan. Much higher price but it's a currently offered plan, at 80 per month for 175 gigs full speed 5G in CAN-US-MEX and unlimited at throttled 3G speeds thereafter. Wifi shareable. Includes unlimited talk and text in all three countries with no roam fees. If you travel or "digital nomad" lots it's convenient keeping the same number, and tether to laptop, with still enough data leftover to preload a full season of Netflix downloads in a 5G hurry at an airport departure gate. If you need a jumbo plan that emits a Canadian IP address without a VPN and a Canadian number. (Holafly SIMs emits an Europe IP address which makes it harder to view some Canadian content from away). It's the plan I have and Rogers still offers it.
