Koodo RCS Fix for iPhone? iOS 18.2 is Coming to the Rescue

If you’re a Koodo customer still dealing with Rich Communications Services (RCS) on iPhone being busted, note further fixes are coming in the next iOS 18.2 update.

When Apple released iOS 18.1, it broke RCS for iPhone users. Telus confirmed with iPhone in Canada they were indeed aware of the issue and were fixing it.

We told you how the Koodo carrier update 60.2 was rolling out to replace 60.1, which apparently caused the RCS issue.

Now, Koodo looks to be fixing this RCS error on iPhone once and for all when iOS 18.2 is finally released. The third beta of iOS 18.2 contains carrier update build 61.0.1, according to a user on Reddit. iOS 18.2 beta 2 did not fix the Koodo RCS issue, but this newest carrier update looks to be the one.

RCS is a messaging protocol widely used on Android devices. With iOS 18, Apple introduced support for RCS, bringing iMessage-like features—such as read receipts, typing indicators, delivery statuses, and improved media sharing—to conversations with Android users. However, messages sent via RCS still appear as green bubbles.

I can confirm. RCS broke completely for me in 18.2 beta 2, but is working again in beta 3.
