Koodo Fixing RCS Missing on iPhone with Carrier Update
After Apple released iOS 18.1 this week, some Koodo customers lost Rich Communications Services (RCS) support on their iPhones.
Koodo told iPhone in Canada at the time they were working on a fix. Now, it appears a fix is rolling out with a new Koodo carrier update.
According to Aaron, MacRumors contributor, he spotted a new carrier update being pushed out by Koodo on Friday evening.
Aaron told iPhone in Canada the Koodo 60.2 carrier update is rolling out, replacing 60.1, which appears to have broken RCS for numerous Koodo customers. We saw a screenshot of the build version strings showing Koodo 60.2.
So how to get this new Koodo carrier update? Make sure that your iPhone is connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data. Next:
- Tap Settings > General > About
Then, follow the onscreen instructions to install your carrier update.
Let us know if you’re seeing this Koodo carrier update being pushed out to your iPhone, as it should be coming soon. We’ve reached out to Koodo to confirm if they are indeed pushing this out as part of a wide release.

My phone is Koodo 60.5.2 so how did that happen? It doesn’t prompt me to update.
Rebooted. Carrier still the same but RCS is back.
Mine is stuck on 60.1 with no rcs and no prompt
Note that this is probably about to go out soon, Aaron just got the heads up since he's a code sleuth hunter.
Same here.
Tonight, RCS is not working again. It was working this morning. It's still enabled in settings but all the conversations that I checked this morning that were RCS, they all reverted to SMS. I rebooted the phone again and RCS came back.

no Koodo 60.2 for me nor does reboot do anything, I guess I'm just unlucky.
Another method of checking for carrier updates is to connect the iPhone to a Mac, select the phone from the sidebar in Finder and click the ‘Check For Updates’ button. This appears to check for both iOS and carrier updates. I’m not sure what the Windows-equivalent for this would be.
Either way, no updates for me yet.
I still don’t see an option to have 60.2.
Carrier update is out and RCS seems to be back
