Apple has released a new support video on YouTube, guiding users through the process of installing macOS updates to ensure their devices run the latest software and have optimal security.

MacOS Sonoma Update.

Keeping your Mac updated is essential for accessing new features, enhancing performance, and staying protected against vulnerabilities.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to updating macOS.

Before diving into the update, it’s important to take the following steps:

  • Backup Your Data: Use Time Machine or your preferred backup method to secure important files and system data in case of any unexpected issues.
  • Check Your Internet Connection: Ensure your Mac is connected to a stable network to avoid interruptions during the update process.

To check for updates and install them:

  1. Open Software Update: Nnavigate to System Settings via the Apple menu  in the top-left corner of your screen. From there, click General in the sidebar and select Software Update on the right.
  2. Check for Updates: Software Update will automatically search for available updates or upgrades compatible with your Mac model.
  3. Install the Update: If updates are available, click Update Now or Upgrade Now. Follow the on-screen prompts, including entering your administrator password when requested.

If your Mac doesn’t support Software Update, you can use the App Store to download and install the latest updates for your macOS. Check out the following video for a better idea.
