Rogers Unveils 2024’s Biggest Moments Shared on Its 5G Network

Rogers has revealed the top 2024 moments shared by Canadians on its 5G network. Basically, these are the concerts, sports and other moments where Canadians were sharing, streaming or liking content on their phones while connected to the company’s 5G wireless network.

“As Canada’s largest and most reliable 5G network provider, we want to make sure customers can share the moment, whether it’s at a Taylor Swift concert or a rare experience like the total darkness of the solar eclipse,” said Mark Kennedy, Chief Technology Officer, in a statement on Friday.

Rogers says nearly 100 terabytes of data were used by Canadians from these most-shared moments.

As expected, Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour took the top spots. Fans at her six Toronto shows used 42TB of data, while her three Vancouver concerts saw 32TB consumed.

Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh also made the list with fans using 5.38TB of data at his July concert in Toronto.

The 111th Grey Cup at BC Place saw 3.95TB of data consumed. The Toronto Blue Jays’ home opener followed with 3.1TB.

Edmonton Oilers fans shared their Stanley Cup run, using 3.06TB over three nights at Rogers Place. Game 7 of the Western Conference Final between Vancouver and Edmonton used 1.53TB at Rogers Arena.

The rare Total Solar Eclipse also saw massive data use. Montreal led with 3.68TB, followed by Niagara Falls at 2.83TB and Kingston at 2.32TB.
