HBO’s The Last of Us Season 2 Premieres in April, New Trailer Released

HBO’s The Last of Us adaptation is returning for its second season later this year in April. During CES 2025, Sony announced when fans can look forward to the follow-up season of the critically acclaimed series with a brand new trailer.
Sony and HBO dropped a brand new 60-second-long look at The Last of Us Season 2. The new trailer gives us some brand new looks at the series, including a better look at Kaitlyn Dever who is cast as Abby Anderson. Fans of Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us series will pick up on some particular moments within the trailer, including some very important scenes from the games.
sees the return of Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie. Following the violent and bloody cross-country journey the two experienced in the first season, the two have settled down in Jackson, Wyoming within a settlement of survivors. Away from the Clickers and bandits, Joel and Ellie’s lives are suddenly uprooted, forcing a brand new conflict.
The Last of Us is being adapted by Chornobyl‘s Craig Mazin alongside Naughty Dog’s lead writer and director Neil Druckmann. The second season of the series also stars Gabriel Luna, Young Mazino, Isabela Merced, Danny Ramirez, Spencer Lord, Jefferey Wright, and Catherine O’Hara as an unknown character.
The first season of The Last of Us premiered on HBO and Crave in 2023 and became a prestigious series. The Last of Us Part 2, debuted on PlayStation 4 in 2020. It was met with a lot of divisive reactions based on its material and the trajectory of the story. The Last of Us Part II is expected to be split between this season and a third expected season, sometime down the road.
