WhatsApp Channels are Now Available on the Mac

WhatsApp Channels is a one-way broadcast feature that allows organizations, celebrities, and businesses to share updates with followers directly within WhatsApp. It’s basically like a feed from anyone to broadcast a message.
The feature expanded in September 2023 to all users worldwide, including in Canada.
Users can follow Channels to receive updates, and content is organized in a separate tab from personal chats. Messages sent through Channels can include text, images, videos, and polls, with the option for admins to control visibility and message lifespan.
WhatsApp Channels is designed for private and secure distribution, as follower details remain hidden, and messages disappear after 30 days.
Previously, you could only access WhatsApp Channels on on the iPhone and Android app. But today, WhatsApp announced Channels are now available on the Mac.
“Channels are now available on the WhatsApp Mac app 💻 stay up to date with your fave Channels without having to reach for your phone,” said the Meta-owned app.
Checking out our screenshot above, you can see there’s a new Channels icon in the left column on the Mac app.
Soon, WhatsApp will bring support for multiple accounts on the iPhone, a feature many users have been waiting for.
