Freedom Mobile is shaking up wireless pricing in Manitoba by introducing new plans with more data at lower prices. Less than a year after launching in the province, the carrier is rolling out three new 60GB plans and adding a roaming feature to existing options.
The $39/month plan that includes 60GB of data, along with a one-time 5GB Roam Beyond feature for use in over 100 countries, is now available in Manitoba. Previously it was only available in other provinces.
Here are the current plans in Manitoba. You’ll notice the 10GB plan is cheaper than in BC with its introductory pricing ($14 off), while the $49 and $59 plans have less data as other provinces:

So how did Freedom Mobile add new plans? “This enhanced pricing and affordability reflect the progress made through the CRTC’s MVNO framework and allow Freedom to pass on savings to Manitobans that are closer to those found in other provinces,” said Peladeau.
