Freedom Mobile today announced it has now expanded 5G+ network access to all plans, while debuting new promos for Lunar New Year, to go with more Roam Beyond offerings.
“As part of our commitment to provide customers with worry-free wireless options, Freedom is improving the everyday lives of Canadians by making it easier and more affordable than ever to access a fast and reliable wireless network,” said Pierre Karl Péladeau, President and CEO of Quebecor, the parent company of Freedom Mobile, in a statement to iPhone in Canada.
Existing customers will get 5G+ access “at no additional cost”. With 5G+, Freedom says users can expect faster speeds, lower latency compared to before.
Two more plans now include Roam Beyond, which lets users roam internationally in over 100 destinations.
Here are Freedom Mobile’s new Canada-US-Mexico 5G+ plans below. In order to get the previous pricing as of January 27, you can only do so if you subscribe to Freedom Home Internet right away (before, you had 18 months to decide with the $5/month discount):
You’ll notice Freedom Mobile is leveraging the lucky number eight in its bonus data (it is tied to prosperity and wealth) for Lunar New Year.

Update Jan. 28, 2025: A Freedom Mobile spokesperson told iPhone in Canada in a statement, “By combining high-band 3500-3800MHz spectrum with other frequency ranges, 5G+ creates a more robust and complete wireless network experience.”
As for download speeds, 5G+ can reach up to 900 Mbps to go with improved latency and capacity, explained the Freedom Mobile spokesperson.
As for the first areas to get 5G+? Freedom Mobile told iPhone in Canada it’s available in the Greater Toronto Area, Hamilton and the Lower Mainland in B.C., while new areas are set to get 5G+ in the “coming months”.

Hmm must be in the 2,600 Mhz spectrum but is that even considered 5G+?
There doesn't seem to be any 3,500 Mhz deployed in Vancouver, or Toronto owned by Freedom as of October, 2024.
I absolutely love the value of switching to Freedom! 75 gigs in Canada-US and Mexico and 10 gigs to roam beyond! I know that if Freedom doesn't have a good network where I am, I can always fall back to the Nationwide network! I'm surprised more Canadians don't switch!
