Sony’s latest State of Play event, held on February 12, 2025, unveiled an impressive lineup of upcoming PlayStation 5 titles, remasters, and downloadable content (DLC).

The 40-minute presentation showcased nearly 30 announcements, highlighting the platform’s diverse gaming future.

Major Game Announcements and Release Dates

• Monster Hunter Wilds: Capcom’s latest installment in the Monster Hunter series is set to launch on February 28, 2025.
• Shinobi: Art of Vengeance: Developed by Lizardcube, known for “Streets of Rage 4,” this 2D action platformer is scheduled for release on August 29, 2025.
• Sonic Racing CrossWorlds: While a specific launch date was not provided, players can participate in a network test starting February 21, 2025.
• Digimon Story: Time Stranger: Bandai Namco revealed “Digimon Story: Time Stranger,” the latest installment in the Digimon Story series, set to release in 2025 on PlayStation 5.
• Borderlands 4: Gearbox showcased “Borderlands 4,” confirming its PlayStation 5 release for September 22, 2025.

Remasters and Remakes

• Days Gone Remastered: Bend Studio announced that “Days Gone Remastered” will arrive on PlayStation 5 on April 25, 2025.
• Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater: Konami confirmed that “Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater,” a remake of the classic title, will launch on August 28, 2025. A new trailer showcased the Cobra Unit and revealed the return of the “Snake vs Monkey” minigame mode.

• Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic: Steel Wool Games is set to release “Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic” on June 13, 2025, for PlayStation 5 and PS VR2.
• Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii: Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio announced that a demo for “Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii” will be available on February 14, 2025.

PlayStation Plus Updates:

The February PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, available from February 18, 2025, includes titles such as “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor,” “Top Spin 2K25,” and the debut episode of “Lost Records: Bloom & Rage” from the creators of “Life is Strange.”

Additionally, indie titles “Blue Prince” and “Abiotic Factor” are set to launch into the Game Catalog later this year.
