Only iPhone 17 Pro Models Expected to Feature Camera Bar
According to industry insider Jon Prosser, the standard iPhone 17 releasing later this year will stick to the same design as its predecessor, while the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max will feature a new rear camera bar (via MacRumors).

Prosser, known for Apple leaks through his YouTube channel Front Page Tech, claims that the iPhone 17 Pro models will see a complete redesign of their rear camera setup. The new camera bar is expected to span the width of the device, housing three lenses in a triangular configuration, alongside the LED flash, microphone, and LiDAR scanner.
A similar design change has also been rumored for the iPhone 17 Air, which is expected to replace the Plus variant in Apple’s lineup. The Air model may feature a single rear camera within the new bar, offering a sleek, ultra-thin design.
In contrast to the Pro models, the base iPhone 17 is anticipated to look nearly identical to the iPhone 16. Prosser suggests that Apple will keep the standard model’s dual-lens setup arranged vertically within a pill-shaped bump.
This design decision could also serve as a distinguishing factor between the standard and Pro models, reinforcing the premium positioning of the latter. While some users might be eager for the redesigned camera layout, others who favor the classic aesthetic may find the iPhone 17’s unchanged design a more comfortable option.

Apple’s approach to differentiating its iPhone 17 models aligns with its broader strategy of offering clear distinctions between its base and premium devices.
The redesigned Pro models will cater to users who want the latest innovations, while the standard iPhone 17 provides an option for those who prefer a familiar look and feel.
