Today Apple announced an updated iPad Air with M3 chip, which replaced the previous version that was powered by M2 from spring 2024.
Now, with the release of the M3 iPad Air, older M1 iPad Air refurbished models are seeing a price drop on Apple.ca. The M1 iPad Air debuted in March 2022.
The entry 64GB iPad Air M1 (Wi-Fi) is now down to $499, which matches the entry price of the iPad 11 (or iPad A16 as Apple’s referring to it now). With an M1 iPad Air, you get support for Apple Intelligence, whereas the entry iPad does not. But the updated iPad 11 now comes with double the entry storage at 128GB.
Last September, Apple’s M1 iPad Air was priced at $619 in the online refurbished store. But now we’re seeing a discount down to $499, which includes the company’s one year warranty and 15-day return policy. You also get a new outer shell and battery. Big bonus.
If you just need a light coffee table iPad for surfing the web and checking emails, a refurbished M1 iPad Air will do the job (heck, you could even spoil your kid). The M1 iPad Air has a better fully laminated display with P3 wide colour and an antireflective coating and also supports Apple Pencil 2.
