Donkey Kong and Mario’s Picross Are Now Available on Nintendo Switch Online

Nintendo has added two new titles to the Nintendo Switch Online catalogue. Available now, subscribers to the service can play Donkey Kong and Mario’s Picross.
As announced on X (formerly Twitter), “Two classic Game Boy titles are now live for Nintendo Switch Online members!” Players can jump in and begin playing each game by navigating to the respective Game Boy app on the Nintendo Switch.
The 1994 Donkey Kong for Game Boy is a loose adaptation of the original 1981 arcade game. Acting as a sequel to Donkey Kong Jr., the title is a puzzle platformer in which players must take on the role of Mario and ascend a series of levels to rescue Pauline from Donkey Kong’s clutches. Donkey Kong begins with the same four stages of the arcade game. However, once players succeed in all four, the game transitions into being brand new, offering 97 additional stages to play through.
Mario’s Picross is a 1995 puzzle title for Game Boy. Players are presented with a puzzle grid of up to 15 x 15 spaces. They must chisel an image out in accordance with the numerical hints provided on the sides of the grid. Doing so will reveal an image, one that players are aiming to replicate. Players are given 30 minutes to complete each puzzle. However, if any incorrect moves are made, time is deducted from the allotment. In total, Mario’s Picross offers 256 puzzles to complete.
An annual subscription to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack is available for $63.99 in Canada. Additionally, Nintendo offers a 12-month Family Membership, including up to eight accounts, for $99.99.
