Rogers, Telus, Bell Unleash New Plans for Canada, US, and Mexico

Looks like Rogers, Telus and Bell are again shaking up their plans once again. We’re seeing new plans added, specifically new offerings for Canada-US-Mexico talk, text and data.

Just two days ago Bell only had two plans available for bring your own device. Now, we have lower pricing with a $49/100GB plan, while a new $60/150GB Canada-US plan is here, along with a cheaper $75 Canada-US-Mexico plan. Check out the changes below:

  • $49/100GB (new; was $60)
  • $60/150GB Canada-USA (new)
  • $75/200GB Canada-USA-Mexico (new; was $90)

As for Telus, it has added a new $55/125GB Canada-US-Mexico plan, to go with its dizzying list of other bring your own device plans:

  • $49/100GB
  • $55/125GB Canada-US-Mexico (new)
  • $60/100GB
  • $60/150GB Canada-US
  • $65/150GB Canada-US
  • $65/125GB
  • $70/150GB Canada-US
  • $75/200GB Canada-US-Mexico
  • $80/200GB Canada-US-Mexico

Rogers has revamped its plans as well, adding three new Canada-US-Mexico plans priced from $55/125GB, just like Telus. There’s also a new $65/125GB plan and a $70/150GB Canada-US plan, while the 200GB Canada-US-Mexico plan has increased in price by $5 for those looking to finance a device.

  • $50/100GB
  • $55/125GB Canada-US-Mexico (new)
  • $60/150GB Canada-US
  • $65/125GB (new)
  • $70/150GB Canada-US (new)
  • $75/200GB Canada-US-Mexico
  • $80/200GB Canada-US-Mexico (new)

Today we also told you about how Bell had cut its throttled data speeds down to 256 Kbps after unlimited data buckets were exhausted. Rogers and Telus have yet to match that (yet).

What happened to the sub-100GB plans?
Not everyone needs that much data! I have a 60GB plan with Telus and never went over 20GB in the last two years..

I feel like providers are bumping the amount of data on their plans to lower the price per GB, while still keeping the prices high.
This makes them look good, because the price per GB is very low, but very few people are using that much data so they're still making a ton of money.

Exactly what you said is what's happening. they get more money by getting rid of the cheaper plans. I wounder how many people even use close to 100gb a month.

The lowest-priced data plan on the Telus webpage (Quebec) is 45$ per month for "150GB non-shareable data with speeds up to 250Mbps and unlimited data at reduced speed".

It's non-shareable! Who uses that much data by himself?

Given the current political situation – and Canadians abandoning trips and taking them elsewhere – maybe the providers should look more to offering Canada – Mexico – EU plans?

Guess I'll have to call, self-derve options don't show the plan I want….

Whatever you do stay away from Bell. Public Mobile seems to be the best right now.
