Amazon Earned Over $100M with MrBeast’s ‘Beast Games’, Says Report

Amazon’s gamble on YouTube megastar MrBeast has paid off, with the hit show “Beast Games” generating at least $100 million USD in profit since premiering on Prime Video in December 2024, according to sources familiar with the matter, reports the Wall Street Journal.

The massive success has sparked negotiations for a second and third season, with MrBeast—whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson—reportedly asking for over $150 USD million per season.

Amazon outbid its streaming competitors, including Netflix, by offering MrBeast around $100 million USD for the first season. That figure included prize money and significant marketing costs. Despite the profit, MrBeast has said he personally lost tens of millions of dollars on the season, largely due to high production costs and his decision to increase the prize pool.

In the U.S., nearly one in four Prime Video viewers watched an episode of Beast Games within the first four weeks of its release, with 60% of those viewers watching at least three episodes.

Now, there’s a Canadian link with “Beast Games”. Subsequent stages of the show were filmed at Downsview Park Studios in Toronto, where the entire “Beast City” was constructed for the competition, estimated to cost a whopping $14 million USD.

Currently, “Beast Games” is seeking contestants for season two and will start filming from May to July of this year. It was a decent first season and the show had some pretty big twists.
